A $35 lamp from Kmart has sent TikTok users into a frenzy after one influencer shared a video of herself displaying it in her home. The shade of the lamp looks eerily similar to the iconic vintage Murano lamps, which sell for $1900 on collector sites. The shopper says she is “thrilled” to have found the perfect dupe in her local Kmart store and even popped in a colour-changing light bulb to create a unique ambience.

The Marmo table lamps sold at Kmart stores nationally and online have been urgently recalled by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission over concerns of electrical shock and death. The ACCC reports that the power cord on the affected lamps may detach from the inline switch, exposing live wires. Electric shock incidents relating to this problem have already been reported. Affected products display the key codes 42245209 and 42328384 and batch codes 33/15 to 51/18. For more information on the recall, click here. Earlier this year, Kmart was forced to recall a range of yoghurts because of potential contamination fears.
